Breaking ground. The backhoe prepares the ground for the house foundations and the drainage system.


Two days later, the spa shell is already built.


Foundation pits are lined with concrete and the rebar for feet and pillars is carefully positioned.


Foundation pins are cast to beam level.


Meanwhile, the spa now has a double cage of rebar.


and we can pour the floor.


Installing the reinforcing steel for the ground beams.


Spa plumbing 1st fix complete and shuttering ready for pouring the walls and rim.


Shttering work begins for the ground beams.


Pouring the concrete of the spa walls and rim.


Ground beams now complete.


Getting the pillars perpendicular.


and getting them all properly in line.


Pouring concrete into the pillar forms, bucket by bucket.


Pillars wrapped in plastic to dry/cure slowly.


The septic tank installed behind the house.


The freshwater tank installed near the gate.


Formwork ready for pouring the upper beams.


Start of the roof construction. Supports for the upper beams stay in place for 15 days to allow the concrete to cure.


Roof steelwork completed and rust-proofed.


Mounting the facia boards.

Start of the wall work. These are heavy concrete aggregate blocks with a 70% internal cavity for insulation.


The septic system. "Grey" water from the tank is distributed along this 40 metre long soakaway field.


Meticulous care is taken with the form and steelwork for the dog-leg shaped veranda wall and front door..

Conduits for electric cables and air-con system embedded in the walls.


Now we start the rendering work. Outside is a plain cement/sand render, inside the render is given a skim of gypsum for smoothness.


Building the road around Baan Suan Mok.


Under-floor and embedded plumbing. All pressurized water pipes are pressure-tested before casting floors and rendeing walls.


The main sewage pipes from both toilets lead out to the main septic tank.


All waste water is lead to the septic tank behind the house. U-bends with drains are provided in the concrete boxes.
